We understand that if your child requires admittance to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), it can be a stressful time for you and your family.
The goal of Women’s & Children’s Hospital is to provide the best clinical care possible, while promoting an emotionally supportive environment to the entire family. You can feel confident that your child will receive the best medical care required for the given situation.
Not only is our Pediatric Intensive Care unit (PICU) is the only one in Acadiana, but we are also one of the only units in the state that allows you to sleep at your child’s bedside. Parent/Family participation is encouraged during your child’s treatment and you are welcome to stay with your child throughout their entire stay in the unit.
