Admissions

Admission to the hospital is arranged by a member of our medical staff. To provide you with a smooth and efficient admissions process, you are encouraged to pre-register online with the hospital during your first trimester or by calling 337-521-9100.

At that time, all necessary insurance information can be obtained and verified. Once we’ve received a description of your insurance benefits, a letter will be mailed to you from our Business Office communicating your estimated out-of-pocket hospital charges, which is due prior to your expected admission date to the hospital.

If you are unable to pay your share in advance of your admission date, we ask that you contact our Patient Financial Counselor at 337-521-9100, ext. 5740 to make other payment arrangements.

In an effort to alleviate any anxiety you may have concerning insurance coverage, it is recommended that you contact your insurance company prior to admission regarding pre-certification of your delivery. They will also explain their normal allowable stay when you pre-certify with the company.

During the admitting process you will sign several forms, including an advanced directive (living will) statement as required by law. General consents for treatment will also be signed at this time. Parents or guardians are not required by Louisiana law to sign consent for minors who are pregnant if it is a pregnancy-related condition. Additionally, minors may consent for care of their own child. If your physician gives you admission orders, please bring them at the time of your admission.
