Acadiana Mall Partners with Local Organizations to Make the Holidays Bright for Area Children

Women's & Children's Hospital November 01, 2016

Acadiana Mall, United Way of Acadiana, and Women’s & Children’s Hospital are teaming up to make the holidays bright for children impacted by the Acadiana floods. These organizations are calling on the community to donate new, unwrapped toys (valued around $10 - $12) and/or books to one of the donation sites below:

  • Acadiana Mall Management Office
  • Acadiana Mall Customer Service
  • JCPenney (2nd floor)
  • Women’s & Children’s Hospital (1st floor, near aquarium)

“We are identifying a school in this area that was flooded, and our goal absolutely is to take all of the books, all of the monetary donations and all of the toys and really make their holidays special this year,” said Nicole Rebstock, United Way of Acadiana’s Senior Workforce Engagement and Campaign Manager.

Women’s & Children’s Hospital helped kick off the drive with a $500 donation to the United Way of Acadiana’s Dolly Parton Library program to provide books for an entire year for more than a dozen children affected by the floods.

"The flood waters in August devastated so many area homes. Countless children lost their toys, games and other possessions that were such a vital part of their world. We hope our gift and the gifts provided by others through this amazing drive will make the holiday season and the coming months brighter."
